What Maddy's Legacy Has Accomplished

Maddy's Mission was created from heartbreak.

But what has followed has been filled with hope.

We have:

• Provided significant philanthropic support to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

• Made a $125,000 sponsorship Champions Circle and supported the hospital's broader pediatric mission. (we are in our second term of a newly committed $125,000.)

• Helped establish an AAC Lending Library in Maddy's honor.

• Supported children who require alternative communication technology and specialized resources.

• Built a long-term relationship with Orlando Health and its pediatric philanthropic community.

• Created and sustained the Maddy's Mission Golf Pro-Am, bringing together hundreds of community members, sponsors and supporters over the years.

• Built awareness around the needs of children living with complex physical and cognitive disabilities.

• Created a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to communicate, connect and participate.

But perhaps our greatest accomplishment cannot be measured in dollars.

It is measured in possibilities.

A child who finds a way to communicate.

A parent who hears their child's voice through technology for the first time.

A therapist who has another tool available to help a child progress.

A family who realizes they are not alone.

That is Maddy's legacy.

The Mission Is Bigger Than One Child

Maddy's story began with one little girl.

Today, her mission reaches far beyond her.

There are thousands of children and families navigating the challenges of disability, complex medical conditions and developmental differences.

Many of them face barriers that have nothing to do with their potential.

Sometimes the right equipment is unavailable.

Sometimes insurance does not cover what a child needs.

Sometimes families simply don't know where to turn.

Maddy's Mission was created to help close those gaps.

We want to be the organization that asks:

“What does this child need?”

And then works to help make it possible.

Looking Ahead

As Maddy's Mission enters its next chapter, our vision is becoming even larger.

We want to expand our impact beyond individual gifts and fundraising events.

We want to build deeper relationships with healthcare providers, therapists, families, businesses and community organizations.

We want to identify unmet needs and help create practical solutions.

And we want Maddy's Mission to become a lasting resource for families raising children with special needs.

Our future is about taking everything we have learned from Maddy's journey and using it to help create better journeys for others.

Maddy's Legacy Lives On

Maddy never had the opportunity to experience the life that her family dreamed she would have.

But because of Maddy, other children may have opportunities that otherwise might not have existed.

They may communicate with their parents.

They may participate in therapy.

They may discover a new ability.

They may experience independence.

They may simply have a better day.

And that is what makes Maddy's story so powerful.

She may have had a short life, but she left behind a lasting purpose.
